Describe how experiments provide evidence of causality.
What will be an ideal response?
Ans: Experiments involve the systematic variation of one or more variables while others are held constant. This systematic variation and holding of other variables constant allows researchers to look at causal relationships among and between variables. By holding extraneous or confounding variables constant we can be confident that changes in the dependent variable are caused by the independent variable.
