How do ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act benefit people with disabilities, and how are these acts different from IDEA?
What will be an ideal response?
The ADA and Section 504 are anti-discrimination laws that ensure that no person with a disability can be discriminated against, solely by reason of disability, in certain realms of life. Section 504 applies to any program or activity receiving federal money, including all public schools and colleges and universities that receive federal funds. Some students who do not qualify for services under IDEA, do qualify under Section 504 . The ADA extends the protections given to students with disabilities in schools or other programs receiving federal funds into private sector employment, transportation, state and local government, privately owned businesses that are open to the public, and telecommunications. ADA and Section 504 prohibit discrimination, but do not provide federal aid
