There are many individual differences that could be pointed out. A major similarity is that all 3 guides promote energy balance, variety, adequacy, and moderation. The U.S. guidelines are longer and more specific regarding what to eat and not eat. The Japanese guidelines comment on aspects of diet that the other 2 do not address, such as timing and setting of meals and rate of chewing.
