If extinction is a natural process that occurs on an ongoing basis, how do extinctions occurring now differ from those of any other mass extinction periods?

What will be an ideal response?

Unlike most previous mass extinctions, the current mass extinction is not the inevitable result of a physical catastrophe such as a volcanic eruption or asteroid impact. Humans are the driving force behind the current rise in extinctions and our actions will determine the extent of the losses.
