ANSWER: Both indoors and outdoors there are numerous safety hazards for young children. Indoor hazards include being safe in the kitchen, being safe with dogs, fire safety, gun safety, food safety, and others. Outdoor hazards include bike safety, street smarts, farm and camping safety, fireworks, sports injuries and others. Food safety and dog safety are major concerns. Adults are responsible for providing young children with an environment that is safe from hazards that may cause illness or injury. Adults also must provide proper supervision of children’s activities to prevent unintentional injuries.
