Briefly explain the role of the Zoroastrian priest.
What will be an ideal response?
The Zoroastrian priest does not preach or teach, but offers prayer and sacrifice at the fire, which he tends. When a Zoroastrian enters the room where the fire burns, he or she offers wood for the fire. The person making an offering does not put the wood directly into the fire, but gives it to the priest. At the proper time, the priest places the offering in the fire, using silver tongs. The priest uses a special ladle to give some ashes to worshippers, who then dab the ashes on their forehead and eyelids.
