Give several examples that illustrate the text's distinction between sex and gender

What will be an ideal response?

Answers may vary, but all answers should illustrate that sex corresponds to biological differences and gender reflects socialization processes. For example, a little girl is born with XX chromosomes, which defines her sex, but her gender is acquired through socialization acts such as parents who might dress her in pink, give her dolls to play with, and so forth. Another example might involve a little girl (also with XX as her biological sex) whose parents give her trucks and encourage rough-and-tumble play. Although she is female, her gender socialization will be quite different from the first girl described. A little boy, in contrast, has an XY pair of chromosomes that defines his biological sex. But his gender identity occurs through socizliation processes that may align to traditional roles (e.g., play with trucks, take risks, etc.) or deviate from them (e.g., encourage talking about his feelings, an interest in art, etc.).
