What are the goals of an effective classroom management system? How do they contribute to a productive learning environment?
What will be an ideal response?
The goals of classroom management are: 1) to create a positive classroom climate, 2) to create a community of learners, 3) to develop learner responsibility, and 4) to maximize opportunities for learning. A positive classroom climate motivates students and contributes to learning. A community of learners involves all members of the class working together to help everyone learn. Developing learner responsibility reminds both teachers and students that the ultimate goal of classroom management is to teach students to manage and control their own behavior, and maximizing opportunities for learning makes classrooms efficient, which also increases student learning.
