2.The sexual revolution began in the 1960's and moved into the early 1970's after the Federal Drug Administration approved the birth control pill for contraceptive use in 1960. This meant that young men and women no longer had to enter marriage to have a stable sexual relationship.
3.The impact of these movements is widespread and significant. In nearly every developed country, girls surpass boys in academic achievement. Although not all fields are equally shared by the sexes, women are equal to men in obtaining careers in law, business, and medicine. At this point, with more tolerance for premarital sex, most young people in Western developed countries engage in a series of sexual relationships before entering marriage.
