1 . They struggle for a work identity. Women continue to experience difficulty in being accepted in some work environments. They are often discouraged from following an interest for fear of rejection.
2 . There continues to be sexual discrimination and harassment. Women who are subjected to these factors often develop periodic episodes of depression.
3 . Gender stereotyping has not been eliminated from the workplace. Such belief systems exaggerate differences between men and women.
4 . The glass ceiling is still in place and some women are blocked from advancement because of their sex.
5 . Dual career families do not eliminate child care responsibilities and they can be shared between husband and wife; however, the wife usually accepts the greatest responsibility for child care.
