Gender communication is an important factor for to consider before dealing with customers in order to better understand the nuances often exhibited when people of the opposite gender come into contact. There has been a lot of research on the topic of gender communication in the past couple of decades. For example, some researchers have found that females are more comfortable being in close physical proximity with other females than males are being close to other males. Although similarities exist between the ways in which males and females relate to one another, there are distinct differences in behavior, beginning in childhood and carrying through into adulthood. You must develop the skills necessary to interact with both men and women if you want to succeed in the customer service profession.
