How do single leading shoe and double leading shoe drum brakes differ in design and performance?
What will be an ideal response?
In a single leading shoe drum brake there is only one cam. The other end of the shoe rotates on a pivot. Turning the cam with the brake pedal presses the tops of the brakes against the drum. A double leading shoe brake has two cams, one at both ends of the shoe. This system requires less pressure from the operator.
