During the period of time the company is considering various names or trademarks for the car (and so long as the information is not disseminated to others who have no need to know this information), the proposed name/mark is a protected trade secret. Once a trademark application is filed for the name/mark or the name/mark is used in advertising or on the car itself, it is no longer "secret," and thus no longer qualifies for trade secret protection.?
