Provide at least three suggestions to help a person become a good listener.

What will be an ideal response?

To become a good listener, first show respect, giving the speaker the opportunity to explain his or her ideas without interrupting. Listen from the first sentence; turn off your internal thoughts and whatever you were thinking about prior to the interaction. Be mindful; stay in the moment and focus on the sender. Keep quiet and use the 80/20 rule: your conversational partner should speak 80 percent of the time, and you should speak 20 percent. Ask good questions. Paraphrase and summarize to show that you understand the speaker's message. Remember what was said; taking notes can help. Finally, involve your body; use nonverbal cues to demonstrate interest and involvement.
