The answer should contain the following points:
Describe the juvenile gang delinquent, both in urban gangs and in emerging gangs in the community, examining their negative behaviors, motivation for becoming involved in gangs, treatment possibilities and typical life course.
• Sometimes, they were started when a gang member from an urban community came to a community and persuaded youth, usually minority ones, to sell drugs, frequently advising them that they could consider himself or herself a Crip, Blood, Vice Lord, or so forth. It would not be long before they were joined by other youth selling drugs for a different gang affiliation. From this origin, gangs would develop competing with each other and result in in conflict and violence.
• These emerging gangs were sometimes initiated when families from urban communities would move to a smaller community and the youths from these families would start a gang. They would use what they remembered and what gang involvement involved. They would use the name of the gang that they knew form the urban community.
• They sometimes could trace their origins to youths in one of the communities deciding that they wanted to be part of a gang. They would make up their own names, often the name of a section of the town or a street name. They would make up rules and make decisions on what they wanted their gang to be.
