Describe the impact of homelessness on children's development and learning

What will be an ideal response?

Homelessness impacts children before their birth, as many parents who are homeless experience obstacles to a healthy pregnancy. Families who are homeless in general have less access to health care, so children are more likely to lack essential imitations. By 18 months of age children who are homeless often display significant developmental delays impacting their learning and behavior. Children who are homeless as preschoolers are more likely to be separated from their parents, causing attachment and behavioral issues. A lack of access to preventative health care and immunizations creates very high rates of acute illnesses, and children who are homeless also have higher rates of mental health challenges.
