Cultural attachment facilitates the process of cultural identity. As individuals develop, they experience a maturation of cultural attachment patterns. Cultural identity development is an aspect of identity formation and takes place through a person’s repeated participation in completing culturally related tasks and interacting with cultural artifacts. It is also facilitated by observing other people as they interact with one another in a given culture. It does not develop in isolation--it is developed through relationships and is considered an important process from a psychological and biological standpoint.
