Answer: At 56.7% Caucasians have the highest rates of current drinking of any ethnic/racial group. Native Americans and Hispanic Americans have nearly identical reported rates of current drinking at 36.6% and 41.8%, respectively. African Americans reported rates of 42.8%, and Asian Americans were the lowest at 38.4%. Binge drinking rates were highest among Hispanics followed by Native Americans, Caucasians, those of mixed race, African Americans, and Asian Americans.
