What are the two major categories of poachers, and how do they differ?

What will be an ideal response?

Poachers can be categorized into two types: situational poachers and professional poachers. Most poachers are situational, some being motivated by opportunity and others by circumstance. A driver sees an elk on the road, frozen by the car's headlights. Impulsively, or after short deliberation, he opportunistically shoots the elk out of season. Some situational poachers kill to feed their families because of economic hardship. A few opportunistic poachers kill simply for the thrill of it. Although fewer in numbers, professional poachers take much more game than do situational poachers, because they kill for profit.
