Identify the four guidelines for the collection of eyewitness identification evidence based on theories regarding human memory.

What will be an ideal response?

The person conducting the lineup should not know which one is the suspect. Eyewitnesses should be explicitly told that the perpetrator might not be in the lineup and therefore do not have to make an identification. The suspect should not stand out in any way from the others in the lineup, nor should the fill-ins be selected for any reason other than matching the initial eyewitness description. A clear statement must be taken by the eyewitness regarding his/her confidence level in the identification judgment.
