Briefly describe the different types of language assessments

What will be an ideal response?

Linguistic screening tests are used to identify children that may be at risk for linguistic
delay. Researchers may use these tests to potentially identify a sample. If a child scores
poorly on a screening test, they are often administered a more comprehensive language
assessment. Some of these assessments provide a detailed account of a particular
language ability, such as phonology, whereas other provide more complete coverage of
linguistic abilities. Comprehensive assessments may be structured and take on the form
of a standardized test, whereas others are more naturalistic.
