Explain how feminist theory addresses the causes of war at the individual level.

What will be an ideal response?

The feminist approach suggests the rules and patterns of the international system were established by men. Because males are often considered to be more aggressive, the rules are very competitive (e.g., self-help) rather than cooperative. Because the rules are set in place, it doesn’t matter if a leader is a man or a woman, but the ultimate cause of conflict is the male-created/dominated rules. Feminists ask what might happen if, instead of a competitive game, the rules inspired cooperation?
