List the main objectives of juvenile aid divisions

What will be an ideal response?

The objectives of a juvenile aid division will differ depending on the size and location of the police department, as in the case of large city departments versus small town departments. All police units' objectives are to reduce crime, arrest criminals, and provide services to the community. If a department of less than fifty sworn officers has one or two juvenile officers, these officers will work closely with local schools, juvenile courts, probation, and youth programs in the community in order to decrease juvenile crime. A juvenile unit in larger departments needs to do all this but will include expanded services such as juvenile gang units, officers stationed at violent schools, child abuse and missing children investigations, investigation, and screening of juvenile cases. This list provides the objectives of these larger units such as arrest of child abusers and juvenile criminals, returning missing children to their parents or guardians, break up of juvenile gangs, and the counseling of troubled juveniles and their parents.
