EBT movement is based on the Western perspective of internal causal effects. Such perspective fails to include specific cultural experiences of American minority groups. The Western reliance on objectively observable evidence in controlled clinical trials does not consider individual variations due to the difference in cultural contexts and experiences. In clinical research, the samples are not representative of the diverse populations to which findings and conclusions will be generalized. Ethnic and cultural minorities are often underrepresented in clinical trials or pilot studies, which also make generalizations of findings to them problematic and questionable. Lastly, some theoretical frameworks used for investigation have inherent limitations for use with diverse and cultural groups. Therefore, findings of such investigations offer little, if any, benefit to treating cultural groups.
