Yes. The Patent Application Information Retrieval (PAIR) system allows applicants and their representatives to view the status of their applications. Once a patent is published or issued, any member of the public will be able to access it, but in its first 18 months (before it is published), the "private" side of PAIR allows applicants and their representatives to track the status of their applications.
