Why would a therapist do a functional behavioral assessment of a child who was regularly fighting with classmates?
What will be an ideal response?
The functional behavior assessment would help the therapist determine when and why the behavior was occurring by showing the therapist what the antecedents and consequences are of the aggressive behavior. The therapist can determine the function of the behavior then develop a plan to replace the undesired behavior with more socially acceptable behavior that provides the same function for the child.
