Describe how the skinfold test is used to assess body composition

What will be an ideal response?

The skinfold test is a field test to estimate body composition. The test works on the principle that over 50% of body fat lies just beneath the skin. Therefore, measuring representative samples of subcutaneous fat using a skinfold caliper at a minimum of three measurement sites provides a means of estimating overall body fat versus lean tissue.
