Explain how a leader would go about maximizing the benefits of diversity while reducing its potential downside?

What will be an ideal response?

Diversity makes for more in-depth problem-solving and decision-making, and it minimizes the risk of groupthink occurring. However, diversity can add stress and the potential of destructive conflict in a team as people from different backgrounds have more potential for misunderstandings, stereotyping, and distrust. A very good first step in maximizing the benefits, while reducing this potential downside, is for the leader to have an inclusive mindset. Such a leader will not only look for how diversity can provide value, but also be in tune to the formation of diversity problems, and how to go about alleviating them.
