Typical physical signs include contusions or minor lacerations to the head, face, neck, breast, or abdomen. Psychological signs of abuse include depression and anxiety. Signs of economical abuse includes limited access to money, credit cards, or transportation. Many factors contribute to IPVā€”individual: age, level of education, alcohol/drug and personality disorders, and so on; relationship: male dominance, economic stress, disparity in educational attainment, and so on; community/societal: gender-inequitable norms, poverty, weak legal sanctions, and so on.
