Explain how dangerous it can be for domestic violence victims to become homeless
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: There is a strong link between domestic violence and homelessness. Prior to VAWA of 2005, women were frequently prohibited from public housing and section 8 housing voucher assistance. Long waiting list for affordable housing caused many victims to stay or return back to their abuser in lieu of being homeless. It is estimated that 16% of homeless adults in the country are domestic violence survivors.
