Describe the sorts of data that a school starting to implement the PBIS model would likely consider as they set their schoolwide expectations. How does this baseline data set the stage for the PBIS plan?
What will be an ideal response?
Schools would look at behavioral data, especially disciplinary referrals. They would look at the types of misbehavior, when and where they occurred during the school day, which students were involved, which days and months reflect the most referrals. The data helps the school identify areas of concern, which strategies they’ll use to encourage appropriate behavior, and how they’ll intervene in each instance of misbehavior in the school.
