How has ethnicity and religion created a dysfunctional state in Nigeria?

What will be an ideal response?

Nigeria is home to three major ethnic groups ? the Ibo, Hausa and Yoruba. The Hausa tend be located in northern
Nigeria and are Muslim. The Ibo are located in the Niger Delta region of the nation and are largely Christian. The Yoruba are found in the southwestern part of Nigeria and are evenly mixed between Christianity and Islam. The axis of three hostile ethnic groups coupled with a schism between two major world faiths running along a latitudinal axis in a nation with a north-south orientation has created a nation rife with internecine ethnic and religious conflict, including the birth of the violent Muslim terror organization known as Boko Haram.
