Please summarize the discussion of risk factors presented by the authors in the text.

What will be an ideal response?

While there are certain risk factors that have been identified, it is first important to recognize that relying on these risk factors alone is problematic because there will inevitably be children who experience CSA who do not fit within the risk factors. There are not specific characteristics that identify who will be a victim of CSA, but there are certain traits and environments that indicate a higher likelihood. Girls are abused at a higher rate than boys, younger children are more vulnerable, children with developmental disabilities are more vulnerable as well. Children who live in homes with a lot of parent–child conflict, where there is alcohol and drug abuse by the parents or domestic violence may also be at greater risk.
