Discuss the difference between defense wounds and hesitation wounds

What will be an ideal response?

In homicides, defense wounds—cuts on the hands, arms, and legs—result when the victim attempts to ward off the attacker. Cutting wounds are frequently the result of suicide. It is common in such cases to observe hesitation wounds in areas where the main wound occurs. These less severe, superficial cutting marks are caused by attempts to build up enough nerve to make the fatal wound. Suicidal cutting wounds are made at an angle related to the hand that held the weapon, generally in a downward direction because of the natural pull of the arm as it is brought across the body.
