Major minerals are those elements that we need in amounts greater than 0.1 g daily, minor minerals are those elements that we need in amounts less than 0.1 g daily. The primary major minerals we require are sodium, potassium, chlorine, sulfur, magnesium, iron, and iodine. Minor minerals include copper, chromium, and even arsenic (but very small amounts!).
