Describe briefly the theory of structuration.

Human interaction creates power, roles, norms and status. As they are created, these “structures” may constrain future actions, and limit the types of interactions we enact in the organization. Structures are continually being created and re-created through interaction. At times when we choose not to enact a given episode, such as deferring to a powerful person, the structure is actually changed through our interaction.
