What were Margaret Thatcher's political priorities?

What will be an ideal response?

Answers will vary. Thatcher brought a tough-mined conservatism to Britain, deregulating various industries and putting pressure on the unions. She sought to dismantle the social safety net built by her predecessors, and let capitalism take the driver's seat. In foreign policy, she was a hawk. Not only as a vocal supporter of Reagan's nuclear rearmament policies, but also at home, where whe offered British military bases for stationing U.S. nuclear missiles. No other European state took such a friendly view of Reagan's policies toward the Soviet Union; her aim was to restore Britain's international position as a partner with the United States in the Cold War. Her militarism extended to the Falklands, which she sent the British Navy to crush the Argentinians in 1982.
