What are the advantages of a decentralized server model?

What will be an ideal response?

Some organizations prefer to decentralize or distribute servers to reflect the locations of offices, departments, or divisions. In decentralized situations, the servers are managed by server administrators at each location, so that management of particular servers is customized to the specific needs of that office, department, or division. Additional advantages of this approach are that it distributes the network traffic to servers, and if one location experiences a fire or flood, for example, the servers in other locations remain intact.
