The author of your textbook states the following: “When your data fail to be normally distributed, it will not show the pattern of the bell curve.” Please explain.
What will be an ideal response?
Ans: It is important to remember that the normal distribution serves as the foundation for parametric statistics and we tend to assume that most human traits are normally distributed. When the peak of the distribution is not right in the middle with mean in the center, the distribution may be considered as being skewed to one side or the other. Sometimes, a normal distribution may have two peaks as in the case of a bimodal distribution.
