How can forensic botany be useful in an investigation?

What will be an ideal response?

The forensic botanist might be called in to examine plant material at the site of a shallow grave. If foreign plant material is found, the forensic botanist may be able to give an indication as to where that material may have originated, or as certain plants, seeds, and spores are endemic to particular climate zones, areas, or elevations. Likewise, if a victim was abducted and transported, plant material can be helpful in telling investigators where the body may have been prior to being found. This can be very important in tracking the perpetrator or setting up a chronology of events, and in locating what may be the primary crime scene or secondary crime scenes.
