How does the PCM use the PFE sensor signal?

What will be an ideal response?

The PFE signal informs the PCM regarding the amount of EGR flow. The PCM checks the actual EGR flow as indicated by the PFE signal against the EGR flow requested by the PCM program. When the actual EGR flow does not match the requested EGR flow, the PCM makes an adjustment in the EGR valve opening.
