Define and describe a NIC.
What will be an ideal response?
A NIC is used to attach a network node to the communications media. The NIC is a board that is installed in the computer or network device, such as in an empty slot on the main board (or motherboard) inside a workstation. In many computers, the NIC is built into the main board. One end of the NIC is accessible on the outside of the workstation, containing a receptacle or connector for attachment to the communications media (or an antenna for wireless communications).
