Give brief definitions for the terms attitudes, beliefs, values, and behaviors and provide an example of each
What will be an ideal response?
Answer: Examples will vary but answers should include the following:
Attitude: a learned predisposition to respond favorably or unfavorably toward something. This is easier to change than either beliefs or values.
Belief: what a person understands to be true or false and are typically based on past experiences or evidence, though some are based on faith. Evidence makes beliefs more susceptible to change than values, but they are still difficult to alter.
Values: an enduring conception of right or wrong, good or bad. Values form the basis of our life goals and are the motivating force behind behavior and values. They are difficult to change.
Behavior: how a person will act generally based on their attitudes, beliefs, and values, though this is not always consistent.
