Semi-restrictive countries have prohibitions on premarital adolescent sex. However, in these countries, the formal prohibitions are not strongly enforced and are easily evaded. Adults in these cultures tend to ignore evidence of premarital sexual behavior as long as young people are fairly discreet. Most developed countries today would fall into this category, including the United States, Canada, and most of Europe.
