Why might paper documents be converted to electronic form during discovery? Give at least three reasons. How is this conversion accomplished?

What will be an ideal response?

Paper documents are converted to electronic form by scanning them and converting them to a PDF or TIFF. Electronic documents are more easily transferred or sent, can be easily searched for relevant information using search software, and eliminate the cost of photocopying. They are also more easily scanned and redacted during a privilege review.
