Through the use of examples, discuss the major tasks of a prosecutor

What will be an ideal response?

The prosecutor is responsible for bringing the power of the state on those who are accused of disobeying the law by charging them with a crime, releasing them from prosecution, or eventually bringing them to trial. Ultimately, he or her job is to seek justice, as well as to convict those who are guilty. The duties of a prosecutor include the following:
• Providing advice to law enforcement (e.g., providing guidance on whether there is enough evidence for the police to detain the suspect)
• Representing the state during the pretrial stage
• Representing the state at hearings, criminal trials, and appeals
• Acting as a legal advisor to county commissioners and other elected officials
