What is masonry grout and why is it needed?
What will be an ideal response?
Like concrete, masonry grout is a mixture of Portland cement, aggregate, and water. It is needed to fill CMU cells
which are provided with rebars. Such cells are referred to as grouted cells. Cells may need to be grouted even if there
are no rebars in them–to increase the wall's fire resistance and sound insulation.
