Although the system of apartheid has been abandoned in South Africa, the quality of life for Africans (blacks) and Coloureds (mixed) has not changed. Why?

What will be an ideal response

The wealthy Afrikaners (Europeans of Dutch decent) still own the major business interests and dominate all social institutions related to maintaining power. These include the educational system, the economy, and the military. The classes other than the Afrikaner are unable to make a difference in the quality of life they share. In some respects, this is a two-tier class system reminiscent of Marx's typology, which was based on relationship to the means of production.
