Why are drug tests a controversial component of the personnel selection process?
What will be an ideal response?
Drug tests are controversial for several reasons. Some people are concerned that they invade individuals' privacy. Others object from a legal perspective. When all applicants or employees are subject to testing, whether or not they have shown evidence of drug use, the tests might be an unreasonable search and seizure or a violation of due process. Taking urine and blood samples involves invasive procedures and accusing someone of drug use is a serious matter.
