What is baby talk and what are the benefits of it?
What will be an ideal response?
Baby talk is soft, singsong, shortened speech used with infants. It is a "cleaned- up" version of speech. The long
vowel sounds help teach the building blocks of everyday speech. By 20 weeks, babies try to copy what they are
hearing. By 18 months, infants form sentences and mimic or replicate aspects of the speech they have heard.
